Okay, if you type in Augusta on google, they just start showing you pictures of golf courses everywhere. But here are a few of Augusta (these aren't that bad):

I love Charleston, great pictures. Augusta looks nice too. Is it true that Augusta has the widest main st. in the US?

According to Wikipedia, Broad Street is the second widest main street in the U.S., while the widest in the world is in Buenos Aires.

Winston-Salem from an airplane.
All photos are from 2004. No Tengion Building or WEV. ![]() I didn't label the Wachovia Center. I think it's obvious where it is. ![]() It's not possible to take a skyline photo of Winston-Salem with all the buildings in it, except by air. I also labeled where the new $200 million baseball stadium, movie theatre, retail, office and condo development will be built. (ground breaking in April 2007) ![]() There are more buildings along this snake-like stretch, which ends at Hanes Mall, that are not in this photo. Winston-Salem has two major medical centers with large skylines. I don't have an aerial showing Forsyth Medical Center's complex and their new tower under construction. As you can see, the East West Expressway is the best way to enter the city from the west. ![]() ...if only all of those where downtown.

Do you have them without the labels? Those are pretty distracting, actually.

Is the aerial of Charlotte (a few postings down) a recent shot? I expected a much denser city, but it looks like an oasis amid parking lots. No offense intended; it's just that one hears so much about the city that seeing all that vacant land around the beautiful skyscrapers is a bit jarring.
Charlotte must be a very sprawling metropolis with a very tight center and lots of outlying edge cities. I'll tell you this, though. On an overnight train trip New York to Atlanta 30 years ago I woke up in the middle of the night at the Charlotte station and was astounded by the skyline. I can only imagine what it looks like today. |

It's at least a few years old; several major projects are missing in that photo. I'd say it's from around 2002 or so... which is a long time at the rate this city's changing.

![]() Not for nothing but charlotte is SMALL from the air. I had no idea it was this little. Omaha NE blows Charlotte away in building density in thier core. Last edited by JoeyApplebutter; December 27th, 2006 at 04:24 AM. Reason: spelling |
