Only for the medal games. At every Olympic with the athletics stadium being the largest stadium (ie 2004 and 2008) the Olympic Stadium was the venue for the medal games.

Only if the Olympics are won. I listed something that was proposed for 2008.

2024 will be the 100th anniversary for Paris. I'd say it's highly likely they will get the games.

People said the same thing about the 100th anniversary for Athens, but they didn't get it.

At the same logic in 1928 there must be in Amsterdam and in 1932 in los angeles, and in 1936 in berlin

If Athens couldn't due it then I don't think Paris would win because of that reason alone. Though Paris is a strong candidate.

You guys mean 1996? Athens / Greece probably wasn't ready then, and Atlanta probably had a much stronger candidacy.

We based our bid only in 100th anniversary and that IOC would vote for us only for this. We hadn't any facilities ready except the stadium and only a big indoor arena. Athens didn't had metro at that time, not even new big airport. In 2004 we had metro and new airport and almost 50% of venues ready, including the olympic complex

That's the point. Unlike Athens, Paris will probably be ready AND it will have the sentimental value.

Having said all of that, Olympics in Toronto would be awesome, its just that 2024 is sooo far away.

Not bad, but I can't see soccer finals being played at the main athletics stadium. Athletics usually takes up the last week and culminates with the marathon finish line within the main stadium.

I put only the events i have different opinions.

Archery - Toronto - Varsity Stadium 5,000

Basketball - Toronto - New Olympic indoor arena - 14,000/Air Canada Center (finals)- 20,000

Cycling (Track) - Toronto - Velodrome at Milton - 3,000 maybe expanded during SOG

Diving - Toronto - Pan Am Aquatic Centre - 10,000

Equestrian - Toronto - Toronto Zoo

Field hockey - Toronto - Pan Am Field Hockey Centre 5,000

Handball - Toronto - Ricoh Coliseum - 8,500/New Olympic indoor arena(finals)- 14,000

Judo and Wrestling - Toronto - Direct Energy center Hall A - 10,000

Swimming - Toronto - Pan Am Aquatic Centre - 10,000

Synchronized swimming - Toronto - Pan Am Aquatic Centre - 10,000

Water Polo - Toronto - Temporary water polo pool near Olympic stadium (6,000)

Gymnastics - Toronto - Air Canada Center - 20,000

Volleyball - Toronto - No suggestion yet, Maybe in Markham arena if it is going to be bulit

It happened in Beijing and Athens. It is just one gold medal game that needs to be played. The women's match can be played elsewhere and the bronze medal games happen at the smallest stadium.

=Excellent Idea

Basketball - Toronto - New Olympic indoor arena - 14,000/Air Canada Center (finals)- 20,000
-Volleyball has a new arena so what will the rest of the time be used for ACC. I think basketball can be fully held at ACC

Cycling (Track) - Toronto - Velodrome at Milton - 3,000 maybe expanded during SOG

-It can't be expanded beyond 3,000 far to small to host. Its about 50 mins away as well, so no

Diving - Toronto - Pan Am Aquatic Centre - 10,000
Diving worked well with swimming in London no reason to change. Max seating is 6,000 as well.

Equestrian - Toronto - Toronto Zoo
Interesting concept ! would eventing be held here too? The zoo would be transit served by 2024 I believe

Field hockey - Toronto - Pan Am Field Hockey Centre 5,000
5,000 is way too small for the Olympics. By looking at the Pan am plans the area will not have room for expansion, hence a need for new stadium

Handball - Toronto - Ricoh Coliseum - 8,500/New Olympic indoor arena(finals)- 14,000
I agree with Ricoh but finals should be ACC

Judo and Wrestling - Toronto - Direct Energy center Hall A - 10,000
I think the venues I proposed are fine.

Swimming - Toronto - Pan Am Aquatic Centre - 10,000
Too small; New venue needed

Synchronized swimming - Toronto - Pan Am Aquatic Centre - 10,000
Too small; New venue needed

Water Polo - Toronto - Temporary water polo pool near Olympic stadium (6,000)
Pan American aquatic venue can be used.

Gymnastics - Toronto - Air Canada Center - 20,000
Disagree. Basketball is a potential big ticket item in Toronto so largest arena should be for it.

Volleyball - Toronto - No suggestion yet, Maybe in Markham arena if it is going to be bulit
The new temporary/reduced seating arena at York University is a good option, but tbh as a student there, I don't think there really is any space there to build such an arena. But by doing so it would create a cluster with tennis so both sports wouldn't be isolated.

I think the equestrian idea is worth pursuing. It is an excellent idea.

York Athletics Stadium is also there (14.000) and can be expanded for Olympics to host some football matches.
