I was on a business trip in the southern US recently and the client was teasing me about our "redneck mayor" (quotes his words).

I just LOVE the Mosh Chick!! Hardly ever see her anymore these days! We don't have a thread called "Duhh..." so I'll post this here:http://www.thestar.com/news/article/...d-him-to-paint Artist says city erased mural it paid him to paint Published On Wed Jun 01 2011 Mural artist Joel Richardson was paid $2,000 by the city to do a mural on a city-owned wall on Dupont just west of Lansdowne. On Tuesday, somebody -- apparently the city -- painted over it, likely as part of Rob Ford's graffiti eradication campaign. Mural artist Joel Richardson was paid $2,000 by the city to do a mural on a city-owned wall on Dupont just west of Lansdowne. On Tuesday, somebody -- apparently the city -- painted over it, likely as part of Rob Ford's graffiti eradication campaign. SUBMITTED PHOTO David Rider Urban Affairs Bureau Chief Artist Joel Richardson says the city has painted over a popular Dupont St. mural that it paid him $2,000 to create, an apparent misfire in Mayor Rob Ford’s war on graffiti. A city spokeswoman says the railway underpass wall was returned to drab grey because Richardson’s artwork was unauthorized, uncommissioned, political and may have “referred to (Prime Minister) Stephen Harper.” Richardson says in 2008 then-Davenport councillor Adam Giambrone’s office asked him to paint a mural on the north wall of the underpass west of Lansdowne Ave., on the funky Junction Triangle neighbourhood’s eastern edge.......................................... read the article in its entirety here: http://www.thestar.com/news/article/...d-him-to-paint

Not to sound like I'm raining on your parade, but this picture doesn't really show any rednecks..
![]() 2/3 visible are minorities. They usually aren't considered rednecks (a term usually reserved for ignorant white folk). Anyway, I'm starting to get severely annoyed with Ford. The whole Transit City out the window and attack on unions won me over, but the attack on the waterfront and the cancellation of the Fort York bridge has peeved me. |

I told you so. :P
Jim Flaherty seems to be keeping Ford in check in regards to the waterfront, so we'll see what happens with that.

You win some you lose some.
I'm sure the waterfront is safe, as it truly is out of Ford's hands, but I'm just glad that LRT fiasco has died the death it deserves. I don't even care if the Sheppard subway isn't extended, as long as they don't prevent the line from ever being extended by shoving a streetcar against the terminus at platform level. |

I'm glad Eglinton is being buried, that's at least one good thing about Ford's reign so far.

Shame our waterfront needs to have someone to keep a check on it.

Even the most diehard Ford supporters will eventually start to second guess their vote soon for this old fox.

I'm looking forwar to seeing what the audit comes up with. I thought he ran on a platform of transparent government? he must have meant for everybody but him. What are you hiding Mr Ford?
If he broke the law to get into office, would there be a way to get him out of city hall?

A fox is quick and cunning, not a great analogy for this mayor TB.

Once the so-called 'gravy' has been disposed of, people will see no reason to keep Ford around. He does nothing for city-building.

Meanwhile, Thunder Bay's progressive mayor is exceeding expectations and his popularity is growing.
