Will they have the statues on the balustrades above the portals and around the dome?

Stucco work has begun on the Nordfassade! A forum member posted earlier that the decorative stonework against bare brick looked interesting. I agreed (and still do), but the stucco gives the façade a pleasingly finished appearance.

Stucco Work in Progress

You can really see the progress that they have made on the north side of the palace at the construction website. At least they've taken down one of those giant billboards while doing the work. (I hope that they don't put it back up.) Here's a link to the web image. Be sure to allow for the time differential if you are in the U.S. since it is a live image.

Unless it's only a base coat, it appears the stucco is the same color as the east facade. I guess we should have assumed that.

Interesting video of the interior the dome.

I am in love with this work, despite its small nuances and something I like less.

One of these things is the dome.

It would be a bit repetitive a Reichstag-style dome, but the interior, is frankly much better. Formerly, this space was occupied by the chapel in addition to being one of the most significant of the building. Now, I do not understand the little transcendence and lack of solemnity of this space, much wasted by a false ceiling that cuts its height.

Watching this video, it seems bleak to me the dome inside, as cold and structural as the interior of the Statue of Liberty or a vulgar roof of skyscrapers.

A mural such as those covering the meeting rooms of the European Union "egg" could have been installed, a mosaic representing the building's history or a "lantern" dome with "winks" to its sister, daughter of Norman Foster of Parliament. In short, it is my opinion.

¿se ha tomado alguna decisión final sobre que se construirá en el espacio del Kaiser Wilhelm Nationaldenkmal?

Has any final decision been made as to whether it will be built in the space of the Kaiser Wilhelm National Denkmal?

As a Rotterdammer, I'd envy Amsterdam and The Hague a lot.
They've got both, the lovely classical Dutch architecture and the hypermodern towers.

Is the exterior of the dome on hold until they get the funds?

Funds are all there for the dome, including lantern and cross. Even if there weren't any donors yet, the government has advanced all funds for the complete reconstruction work already and everything is already in the works at different contractors. It sometimes takes a little time until stonemasonry and other products and material is finished and delivered.
Also, to be perfectly honest (but that is just my outsider assessment ), the construction workers don't seem to overwork themselves. For days you don't see them at all on site and if they are there, they sometimes just work for a couple of hours. Finished stonemasonry, ready for installation, is just lying around for days, even weeks. The construction company likely has a timeframe that they have to meet and maybe they think they can take their time and still comfortably meet the deadline in the end?

Kaiser Wilhelm Denkmal site status

Tiaren:

Is there any chance that you could give us an update on the status of the Kaiser Wilhelm Denkmal site? I've heard differing accounts of where they are with that.

Bad news unfortunately. The hideous Einheitsdenkmal wip will be build on top of it, the government just again voted for it. (While the public is overwhelmingly against it.) Construction might already start as soon as the restauration of the base of the original memorial is completed.

Hideous? It is a masterpiece of contemporary design, and it will become one of the architectural icons of Berlin. Not the major one, but one of the top-5 (these things people become to associate with a city, such as the London Eye, the I-Amsterdam sign, the Louvre Pyramid, the Atomium)

That's a masterpiece? Well I guess me and the rest of the public just aren't sophisticated enough in our taste to see the beauty you do. And are you saying this is a better replacement then was was once there?
