I've flipped through the pages and I claim Liege to be 100% decent town. I don't think it's only because Kampflamn took nice photos, which he did, and I wouldn't change opinion even if I smelt some urine here and there. Such a deviant I'm.

Every town can be beautifull. I've been in Liege many times. At least half of the city doesn't look like this.
Would you think that 1-2km from the place Kampflamm took his pics these immages are reallity in the same city?

Liege is an industrial city...bad spots are easy to find.

That ofcourse doesn't take away that the city center is very beautifull and that kampflamm's pics are amazing!

Oh please, I could do the same with Paris, New York, Brussels, Antwerp etc... showing the working class part on a rainy day to "prove" that any city is ugly...

Yea well, Brussels, Paris and Antwerp known for their run down immigrant neighborhoods. Those are not working class neigborhoods. In Liege things are differend. Ofcourse you could do that for every city. But the area's where Liege looks like this are far bigger in compairison of the rest of the city.

I've done an excursion last year to Ougree and Seraing because of a project for school where we needed to study urban decay. I was struck that neighborhoods like that even existed around here. They look worse than anything Brussels could ever give you.

If you went in Liege specifically to "study" urban decay and went in Ougrée and Seraing, no wonder you got that imago of the city. These places are not Liege proper, the same way Seine-st denis is not Paris proper. (And believe it or not, I find these places far more poetic and "beautiful" in its own way than Parisian banlieue, bigger than Paris itself as well, which got not one single redeeming factor).

I don't have a bad immage of the city. the city is great, only the closest (oldest) suburbs look very run down.
