Do we know anything here?! Don't think so. Practily impossible to find any new info on this... Seems EBY made a "note" on it in February this year, but it isn't accessible online.

Patience and little information is key for at least the period while the station is rebuilt, I guess....

Arcasa arkitekter has launched a new plan for Ensjøveien 3 - 7. In the period 2003-8 they had a plan for the same plots + 9 - 13, that eventually was turned down by the politicians. Now they're trying again with a smaller area, as you can see in this map: http://web102881.pbe.oslo.kommune.no...fileid=3125770

Arcasa wants 5-7 floorers and a possible "highrise" for the area, with a total use of up to 200 %, which is substantially higher than the plots have today. Hopefully, we'll see an urban development better tying Ensjø to Tøyen!

No renders or anything at this point, as the case is so new...

I only hope we get a building that meets the road there and not have a huge lawn between the road surface and the buildings walls.

Not huge... But single line of trees and some grass never hurt anyone - as seen in the model i posted above

Indeed, as long as the sidewalk is on the inside of that.

I don't mind lawns like this:

What I absolutely loathe are detached apartments buildings placed randomly around surrounded by a lawn. I hope Arcasa arkitekter proposal is more in line with my closed blocks.

Well, you know how Nye Major looks... I would like if they divided the area in two, maybe with a pedestrianized area going through the block, ultimately connecting to the metro station. Everything doesn't have to happen in Ensjøveien

But Nye Major is also the best and most urban of their masterplan developments and it is still no more than okay.

The city have made a 3d map of Ensjø at their homepage (similar to the one you can find in the op). You can click on the different numbers and then information and renders will appear of each individual development phases.

CLICK

Edit: I see now that this site was actually presented in the op.Sorry about that then.

And some renders of the two roads in Ensjøbyen from the site above. It actually don't look too bad. Quite dense and urban and hopefully OBOS won't ruin it up with too awful architecture.

Ensjøveien.

Gladengveien.

Har du forslag til navn på gater, plasser, parker i Ensjø-området?

That's great, but from the renders the area seems too suburban IMO. They should build dense city quarters, and the green space should mostly be restricted to one or two urban parks. With (relatively) narrow streets one can create a very dense and urban atmosphere even with buildings of four or five storeys.

I haven't been to this area myself, though - I'm just judging from the renders.

It is a former industrial park outside of the traditional inner city. Although I do agree that it could have been much better (see my first post here) it is still better than most suburbia projects we could have gotten here instead..

The new sidewalks in ensjøveien is great! For years, this road has been hell for both cars and pedestrians. Now one can actually walk there without feeling discomfort.

Ensjø Tyngdepunktet

The complete plan sketch was sent in to the municipiality late June. A huge document with lots of illustrations. The plan comes in two alternatives, one where the old Lehvnas mechanical workshop is kept, and one where it's removed. I start by showing an overview of both alternatives, then all detailed renders show when it's removed.

Alt1:

Alt 2:

Map of alt 1:

The next renders show visualizations from different viewpoints. Hopefully, we'll see some more creativity at a later point.

That looks shitty. I prefer alt. 2: It keeps the old building (which will probably look a lot better than the new ones) and have a somewhat urban feeling both towards Ensjøveien and the new road closest to Kampen.
