Pretty cool. It doesn't really look like 518m though :p

Me too. And another 500+ meters building for China. Unbelievable, but also astonishing.

The first proposal is one hell of a design. I wonder what is the chance it would get approved? It doesn't look like the easiest and cheapest of designs to implement. I'd love to see it happen though.

woah look at that, wow, just wow. epic design.

also for geographical noobs like i am Fuzhou has about 6.4 million inhabitants, is the capital of Fujian, on the coastline facing taiwan.

currently tallest building seems to be "Fujian Power Dispatching and Communication Building" (source skyscraperpage) with nearly 200m

the conceptual design actually had much more character and was more a landmark than the actual one. its just a 2011 modern skyscraper. the old one was timeless and one of a kind

Any progress with this tower? I know zorg went through the entire proposed supertall section a few months getting rid of dead threads. So I don't think this would fall into that category.

It's only been a year and a half since initial proposal it looks like so we could expect this to be approved soon. That is only if they indeed are going ahead with this tower.

^ Can you name what threads he got rid of that should have stayed?

Anyways, this B1 Plot tower belongs to a long term development of Fuzhou CBD.

They are building the lower skyscrapers first and demolishing old buildings there (http://goo.gl/maps/ZI2eA).

Z0rg did got rid of this thread since it's not serious by the developers
