iloilo city, philippines' maiden foray in the international scene of the skyscrapercity forums. i hope this would eventually create sizable awareness to and for our city which will translate more tourist and business opportunities!

the dinagyang festival of our city, in many respects, chronicles the coming of the tribes from your country who were the first to interact with the native negrito people of our island in which our city is located. the subsequent christianization of those tribes by spain, the negrito tribes, plus the colorful malay inspired costumes and then the holding of the santo nino (a christian tradition) are evidences of the fusion of influences of all three cultures. what is evident today in contemporary iloilo and philippine culture are the malay and spanish influences with the negrito cultural influence relegated to obscurity.

yup, but i've seen a couple of youtube vids uploaded by other peeps already.

here are some of them...

Crowd kinda thinned out because they thought the TFC float with Jericho and Karylle was the last.

This is like an igorot dance that they did before they danced their Dinagyang routine.
