I'd say Turkish will start off with 3 out of 5 concourses and we'll see who get booted out of Sabiha as well as the 60m+ PAX who transfer from Ataturk. Sabiha need to transfer over 10m PAX ASAP as they are heaving over there and Pegasus is their Anchor tenant.

I'd see 75m total (c.60m for Turkish) in the new Airport in 2020 and capacity is 90m.

Based on the revised proposal in above, both supporting facilities 1 and 2 as well as THY complex will be directly linked to the proposed black sea port.

What is "THY" can someone explain?

I note the revised separation between R4 and R5 indicates the new T2 will get more narrows than wides when it eventually opens but a single T2 makes more sense than the original scattered satellite terminals and transferring airside/groundside T1 -T2 will be a doddle.

"THY" is ICAO code of Turkish Airlines.

Turkish is expected to move here in less than a year and nobody is 100% sure right now where their Maintenance area will be. Right!

It would make perfect sense for all of the TK flight to be transferred from both airports. They also have roughly 20 planes grounded in Antalya airport so I would guess they just move all operations to the new airport and as a result take almost all of the starting 90 mil capacity(55 mil from IST,10 mil from SAB.+ 20 planes=5mil and maybe increase frequencies as well as deliveries from 2018).

It was stated that IST will be closed straight away but I dont think that will happen. I think all Star Alliance flights will move to the new airport while other carriers stay in IST at least until the second terminal and transport links are built.

Hmm...air/sea integration.

Unconventional model but hopefully may work for Istanbul. Dubai is pursuing that too with new Al-Maktoum Airport/Jebel Ali Port.
