I hate the sight of vegetable/ fish vendors occupying one lane of each side of the road in the morning and evening. Can we not do something like the above for removing these vendors from the roads. May not be feasible for want of money or vacant land. Or probably the political will.

ya, only BIGBAZAAR & PANTALOON Factory Outlet,which are anchor stores now open. one beauty saloon and one watch store are yet to open soon.Other than, there are aprox 10 vanila store,which are now vacant yet to open.Plenty parking spaces are there.But I think organized retail is yet to take off in this locality.

Shriram Automall launched in Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 23:

Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (STFC) recently launched the ‘Shriram Automall’ in the city for facilitating trading in pre-owned commercial vehicles, infrastructure and agricultural equipment. The company, which had targeted to set up 60 such automalls across the country by 2013, has already opened 15 so far.

According to Umesh G. Revankar, Managing Director, STFC, Shriram Automall is a first-of-its kind initiative for trading of pre-owned commercial vehicles, infrastructure and agricultural equipment in an organised and transparent manner.

Apart from vehicle transactions, the Automall will help customers seek financing and insurance options as well as provide refurbishment solutions for vehicles, said a company press statement.

As add-on facilities, it will also provide rest rooms for travel-fatigued truck drivers and cleaners, and parking services.
