Maybe St.Petersburg, but Moscow is a mix of styles and the modern aspect definitely matches the pulse and culture of modern Russia. Hopefully many elements of "old Moscow" will remain or be restored however, simply building everything new would detract from the city's attractiveness.

Once gone, remnants of old Moscow can never be replaced. Thankfully city planners seem to be beginning to realise this.

Ah, the mystery of the missing crane boom has now been resolved.

First you saw it... . . . ... here
then it was dismantled....mostly gone
and put back together....reappearing
and today... . . . . . ... . .it's back!

and with what appears to be a core split and/or core rise on the right hand side.
