Hey, fellas...just a heads up: The Heat is running a facebook promotion today where "Burnie" the mascot is showing up at various locations in Dade and Broward giving away free tickets. The clues for his location are super easy to figure out. Check it out if you get the chance.
(just a note since it's over now...they're apparently going to do this on a semi-regular basis. I'll try to keep folks posted if I see it) Last edited by spellbound; October 29th, 2010 at 12:34 AM. |

Halloween was a good time at work. I went as a disgruntled ex-Soviet Naval officer (hey, I'm an esoteric kind of guy) but the best was our resident Scottish bartender, Morgan, who did a "Groundskeeper Willie" that was breathtaking in its offensiveness. |

Sounds like Johnny Brenda's was the place to be for Halloween! Apologies to the moderator for getting off topic ( but I did at least work Lebron's name into this post). But the most important thing is...why is an ex-Soviet Navel officer disgruntled? |

Costa Rican lunches are interesting. I'm talking about the "I just had peanut butter on toast" type.
As for the Naval Officer, I have an old Russian Navy Officers cap I picked up in Prague years ago (that kind of stuff was all over the old Eastern bloc). When I put it on, it just makes me look surly, somehow---so I decided to go with it and yell at people in gibberish Russian (possibly mixing words like 'pizza' and 'chihuahua' into it). A strange night was had by all. Go Heat!! |

I don't think anyone imagined that "The Heat" would start off the season with a 5-4 record. Its just taking a little longer for the team's chemistry to really begin to kick in, so I wouldn't press the "panic button" just yet!!

That said, kudos to the Celtics. Christ, what is it now? 14 out of the last 15 Boston has won versus Miami? And they've certainly made a pretty emphatic statement so far this season that any Eastern Conference titles are going to have to be earned, not given. The Boston Celtics are on a level I only hope the Heat can attain someday. 17 NBA titles speaks for itself, and they're obviously gunning for number 18. There might be some fun playoff games next Spring... |

if you don't earn it, there is something very wrong with the NBA
the Heat have a target on them so they better step up |

I'm not doubting that the Heat will go to the finals, but could we PLEASE win the Celtics games? I hate the "told ya soo"-attitude of some of the ginger boys up north...

Also, it is not only people up north, but people all over the country. I Heat, thus far, have not shown they can keep up physically with the better teams in the league. Hence their losing record to teams with a winning record. |

That was real stupid. Not the people being interviewed but the reporter.
