I am starting this thread to track the Amusement and Theme Parks in India.
Please contribute here so that we can have a better information on this subject. This is a very big business worldwide and also contributes to the country's image and standard of living.

Veegaland Wonderla Kochi

Veegaland Kochi, is the first major amusement park in Kerala and also one of the largest in South India, based in Kochi. Owned and operated by Wonderla Amusement Parks Limited- a subsidary of Kochi based business group V-Guard Group. This was the first property of the group which also owns another major property- Wonderla in Bangalore. The resort was recently rebranded as Wonderla Kochi.

The property has 10 family rides, 11 water rides, 10 adventure rides, 12 Kid's rides, in addition to laser cum musical fountains and 4D Cinemas.

The park has 5 restaurants, 7 merchandise stores and a public dorm facility. The park opens from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The company has plan to expand to 46 acres nearby to become one of the largest in India.

Yes, Dolphin City was active in the 90s and early 2000s, but the dolphins could not withstand the heat, and passed away. Then, sea lions were used for the show, but PeTA activists got vociferous and had it closed down.

MUMBAI: The world's leading theme park operators—Disney World, Canada's Wonderland, Sentosa of Singapore and Genting of Malaysia—are in talks to set up a Disneylandstyle park in Gujarat, that could be bigger than the Disneylands in California, Paris or Tokyo.

The $2.1-billion project being developed by Mumbai-based by infrastructure and real estate firm, Atlanta, has already been cleared by the Gujarat Tourism Department. Ernst & Young has done the market research and financial modelling for the project, while the concept plan has been prepared by architecture and design firm, Morphogenesis, two people familiar with the development said.

One of the sources said, "A leading US investment bank has been mandated to work as the transaction advisor and to rope in a foreign player to join promoters on the project." Spread over 13 square kilometers, the site—Suvali Beach— has a 3.3 km stretch along the Arabian Sea coast. The beach is located around 20 km from Surat and will have five theme parks like nature park, amusement park, water park, beach park, ice skating and skiing dome, restaurants, hotels, studios, forest villas, beach villas, studio lagoon and apartments and villas among others, the sources said.

Guys one great news...

Just saw a board of FAMOUS APPU GHAR saying COMING SOON just behind HUDA City Centre metro station...

Enquired about it...they say that it will be bigger and better than another and some US company has been hired for the project....it will start soon...

It will be adjacent to kingdom of dreams....I think its a great news....A big amusement park for delhi NCR was much needed..
