GGC is the opaque overlay located within Ahmedabad's SVP Ring Road, the overlay to its NW is Adani Groups 600 Acre Shantigram Township (link), whilst across the Sabarmati to the NE is where the 550 Acre GIFT City is due to come up.

Godrej Properties launches fourth phase of Ahmedabad township project

MUMBAI: Real estate developer Godrej Properties has launched fourth phase of its integrated township project Godrej Garden City in Ahmedabad.

"We have already sold about 2500 apartments and look forward to continuing the strong momentum in this project," said Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Director, Godrej Properties.

The company had opened bookings for third phase of this project in January.

Godrej Garden City, spread over 250 acres, proposes to house over 13,000 apartments and villas upon completion of the project.

The company plans to create facilities for transport, education, health-care, recreation, hospitality, retail and banking within the proposed integrated township. In the fourth phase, Godrej will offer two and three bedroom apartments with space ranging from 1,270 sq ft to 1,729 sq ft.

In line with its business strategy, Godrej Properties is developing this project under a joint venture development model and for this project the company is partnering with Shree Siddhi Group.

On Friday, shares of Godrej Properties closed at Rs 770 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.2% from Thursday.

Godrej Properties ties up with GIIS for setting up International School

Godrej Properties, the realty development arm of the Godrej Group, has tied-up with Global Indian International School (GIIS) for setting up an education facility at its Ahmedabad 330-acre township project Godrej Garden City, the company said in a release.

Godrej Properties will construct an independent building comprising of a total built up area of around 100,000 sq ft to house this education facility. Apart from the school building, it will also develop playground, landscaping and other facilities including parking for school buses.

Singapore-based Global Indian International School is part of a network of international schools across countries like Singapore, USA, Malaysia, New Zealand, Japan, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam and India.

Good news not just for the success of this project, but for Ahmedabad in general.

As we visited Gujarat recently, we found Godrej Garden City is one of the largest project in Ahmadabad which proposes houses on very large numbers, large scenic landscaping and open areas and vast commercial spaces. It is really an amazing project in Gujarat.
