Well I'm here at KLIA for 5 and a half hours and failed to get the train into the city and back, due to the pathetic Malaysian customs. There was probably about 1000 people trying to get through customs, on long lines that weren't moving at all, so I gave up. Not sure why they are making it so hard to enter, especially when there are advertisements around KLIA saying don't just transfer, visit Malaysia. Ive never seen such a slow customs ever in the world, so Malaysia misses out on my tourism dollar, and if this is normal, I'm not in any hurry to visit Malaysia any time soon. Get your act together, rant over

heeeh... that's novel, the lines always clear very quickly in KLIA for the many years I've been using the airport. Like XNeo said, Ebola could be the cause. They make big fuss about it here in Malaysia.

Gosh this is something new. It never occurred before (maybe one time after MH370 went missing).

Withe MH370 fake passport scandal and Ebola, i am not surpsied that customs flow have been more stringent and slower.

Last time i flew international was in February and customs through klia was fine then. Not sure about now.

Saw on the news.

MAHB plans to add 15 additional walkalators around KLIA2.

3 will be added by end of 2014, the rest in 2015.

KLIA2 terminal currently have 4 walkalators.

I guess MAHb have been getting plenty of negative feedback on the too much 'walking' at KLIA2 or perhaps MAHB didnt have time to install them due to the strict deadline.

MAHB should've opened the terminal KLIA2 around 3rd Quarter this year instead of rushing it.

Its a die and dont do die situation...KLIA2 is also a political vanity project for some of the politicians, opening it later than the May deadline would be unpopular after they failed to open it in June 2013 as part of an election promise.

I believe the extra walkalators are a new additin rather than a delayed feature.mmeaning at the deisgn stagen they thought four walkalators would be enough...but looking at skytrax reviews and public feedback..the lack of walkalators is a big issue.

To future builders of hybrid airpirts.....just provide lots of walkalators .
