KLIA2
The new terminal at 2.6 million square feet will dwarf the current LCCT's 379,850 square feet.

Will Etihad do a bacon sandwich for that price? I didn't think so.

tullamarine I don't think Etihad (or Emirates for that matter) will do a bacon sandwich at any price!!! Qantas customers on Sydney/Melbourne-London lost bacon from the breakfast menu following the Emirates alliance.

Bitte Schoen!
It was a bit hazy, hence the blurred picture quality. But the takeoff route was almost perfect to take some pictures

The LCCT will become, ultimately, a cargo facility.

Anyway here's a treat for aviation enthusiast which I took in 2011 on the way back from Cambodia :

A US Air Force B747-200 E-4B spotted at KLIA! This plane is similar to Air Force One and only 4 are made (these are different from Air Force One which are with the service of the President of USA). It could withstand EMP attacks with nuclear and thermal effects shielding and it is a National Airborne Operations Center meaning that it would be an Airborne Comand Post for the US Govt should there be any attack on the US soil. It has air-refueling capability and could remain air-borne for up to a week in times of crisis.

How far is KLIA2 away from the current KLIA?
Will KLIA2 share the same KUL airport code?

People, KLIA2 is an extension of the current airport. They built a new terminal for low cost carriers because the old is really tiny and can't handle the all of the low cost carriers passengers. The new terminal is on the other side of the runway from the current terminal set up.

I can see that now. KLIA2 is side by side with KLIA.
Looks like the number of jet bridges in KLIA 2 is almost equal the numbers in KLIA.

Question: I can recognize KLIA and KLIA2 in the pix above. Whereabouts is the current LCCT?

Anyway, if you guys remember, KLIA was designed to include a second satellite terminal. It is supposed to be built on where that empty plot next to the current Satellite Terminal A is located. Guess they decided to abandon that plan, huh?
