this is just not logic.
althoug its a nice design
but it doesnt fit the area well and the urban surroundings of heritage buildings .

and how sexy to live next to a shop for the deceased.

It's 56 meters and 16 floors. I didn't include the floor count in the title because nothing was officially announced, and I HATE making false/misleading statements. (still, am responsible for the stated figures as they are based on personal thorough calculations)

Hey Beiruti, how's it going? Am on my vacation, I'll be in Beirut next week.

Concerning the height of that building, I hope that my calculations turns out accurate. I may have 2-3 meters error margin to the shorter side, like it could be 53 meters or so. Am sure though that the floor count is correct...

It's really strange how "Zardman" are saying nothing (like nothing at all) about the floor count or the height! I think they are trying to keep the "myth" of the resemblance between this building and the "Aqua Tower" alive.

In fact, this is exactly the reason why I calculated its height in the first place...

See, when I first saw this project (I passed by it while shooting "Level 27" and others), I never thought it would look like this. (no perspectives on the site). Also the plot was very small.

When I got back home, I checked the website and was shocked by the design, and its resemblance to Gang's Aqua Tower in Chicago. (Allobeirut mentioned it in post 6). But, knowing how small is the "Wave" plot, I was curious to compare both towers man to man!

To do that, I had to figure out the exact height. (which am experienced in)

So, I grabbed the plans, and scaled them according to known references (the stair step, the door opening...etc), which in turn gave me the exact columns spans and "width and depth" dimensions of the building. All I needed now was the height, so I made a draft structural 3D model and compared it to the published perspective. Other factors came to help along the way, like interior shots showing the "wavy" elements...etc.

All this was to compare the "Wave" to the "Aqua", and to be honest, the results came up a little "embarrassing". It's like comparing a cutie little kitten to a tiger! They appear similar, but not next to each other! LOL

I will post the comparison chart that I made when I get to my PC, if there's interest. (I wasn't planning to post them anyway, but if u want to see them, I have no pro)

Anyway, this building has got lots of good architectural values, and it's very smartly designed. (although most of the credits goes to Mrs Gang for the "Aqua" design).

I dare to say that the architects at Zardman "adopted" the original design to fit this small building in a very clever way indeed.

I will talk about it later...gtg now...

For those of you (if any) who are waiting for the Aqua-Wave comparison that I promised to post, I say sorry for the delay. I haven't forgot of course...

The thing is, while I was planning to post only the "height" chart that I've made a while ago, I decided to take it a step further and make a full comparison/study of both buildings, including their architectural aspects, value, and such...

Anyway, I hope I'll be able to post it tonight. I just wanted to let you know that I didn't forget! (:
