Not too bad, although the flowers could use some help... the snail closeup came out pretty cool, actually.
I know from experience that it is a lot harder to photograph flowers that it seems... and for the record, I'm a lousy flower photog. Those who are passionate about it often spend hours picking the lighting, angles, focus and background. If you're shooting outdoors you need a very calm day, with no wind, or otherwise you need to 'immobilize' your subject briefly for a sharp macro. Of course, a sturdy tripod and a shutter release cord are really helpful to minimize camera shake. Picking the right light on flowers is tough. Strong sunlight at noon tends to inundate the scene and wash out all the subtle hues and textures. It actually makes most flowers and foliage look flat and unappealing. I think mid morning light works best, but the end of the day light around the golden hour can work wonders for some. This being said, I still think it's a neat thread and a good start. I don't usually shoot flowers, but I enjoyed yours. Here's one of my very rare flower shots (Dinosaur Provincial Park, AB), taken handheld and in a rush, against all rules, as I thought I heard a rattlesnake rattling in the brush, right besides me ![]()

Turkno's green tangerine was interesting, too, since I've never seen tangerines growing on trees... ours grow in boxes ![]() found some more nature shots in my old dusty bin: lichens growing on dead tree bark ![]() mushrooms ![]() and some random white flowers

taken this morning with my work camera, a Canon G12 (OK, it's a totally unproductive use of a work camera, but I only did it because Cake made me jealous )![]() ![]()
