Location information about Mahindra city (From their website).

You can see where Mahindra city is (on NH 45) and where the IT Expressway is being developed (Old Mahabalipuram Road). The first phase of the IT expressway is being developed from Taramani to Siruseri (where a 1000 acre IT park is being promoted). These places are shown on the map.

Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dayanidhi Maran has indicated that Intel has finalized plans to set up a plant in Chennai.

http://www.hindu.com/2005/04/11/stor...1106991200.htm

March 2005 news reports indicate that the SEZ bill would be tabled soon. Intel has been scouting for locations in India for quite some time. If they decide to set up a plant in Chennai, indications are that it may be at the Siruseri IT park and may be about 80 acres in size.

They had finalised Chennai City for the microchip manufacturing facility with an investment tag of Rs 200 crore in 2004 itself..

Economic Times,May,2004 http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...how/704403.cms)

As per Maran itseems that they are waiting for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) policy to be announced.

Intel has identified 50 to 70 acres of land close to the site allotted to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) at the Siruseri IT Park, promoted by the state-owned State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (Sipcot), on the IT highway. Earlier, it had looked at a couple of other sites, including one in the Mahindra Industrial Park (MIPL).

Four cities to be promoted IT destinations

http://www.hindu.com/2005/04/16/stor...1606850400.htm

The State Government has identified Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi and Hosur as Tier-II cities for being promoted as IT investment destinations, Ramesh Ram Mishra, Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), said on Friday.

Land has already been identified in Coimbatore, he said at the toping out ceremony for the first phase of the International Tech Park (ITPC), a flagship project of Ascendas, Singapore, in collaboration with the TIDCO near Taramani, here.

Why no really tall buildings

I have read many posts where there is much hand wringing about the lack of height of buildings beyond 13 or 14 floors in Chennai as opposed to say, Mumbai. It would be worth while to consider this:

The higher the building, the more expensive it is to build.
To build really tall buildings, the city needs to support a high enough floor space index (FSI).
To support such a high FSI, the infrastructure needs to be robust enough and the land prices high enough to justify the hugely more expensive taller buildings.
This means in a country like India, a majority of the city’s residents will be prized out of living space and end up in slums like in Mumbai, where some 60% of the people live in slums.
It is economics, pure and simple, As the Indian economy grows and the purchasing power of the people increase and robust urban infrastructure is built, the real estate market will support taller structures, and the gradual redevelopment of older built up areas.

MASTEK - Chennai

Mastek Group, one of India's leading mid-size software services majors, is to set up a development centre in Chennai as part of its expansion strategy.

This will be Mastek's first development centre outside Maharashtra and the sixth in India, said a company statement issued here Wednesday.

All I see are some roads. Where is the 'building', complete or incomplete?

BTW, the fixtures for the streetlights are quite nice. Different from the usual.
