Wild vegetation that appears along roads and in other underused areas.
Pretty interesting to see how nature takes back what once was untouched desert sands ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() Source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/5029328...th/7963027916/ |

The Palm Jumeirah Park prior to opening, enjoy
![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() Source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/5029328...7631481954018/ I guess the idea behind the park was to imitate a wadi or some sort of water stream, which I think turned out quite good. However I would have preferred something more modern for such an iconic project like Palm Jumeirah. Something more abstract with curved or linear lines, more open space/plazas with water basins for example. On the other hand matches the current design really good with the arabian-style (??) Shoreline apartments and the Golden Mile buildings. At the end the most important thing is that they finally found money to convert that ugly stretch of sand into something green!

I could not resist to post these pictures of Madinat Al Arab, in my opinion a masterpiece of landscape architect (not because it is somehow modern or groundbreaking, just because it is incredibly lush and fits to its envirnonment perfectly and creates a place thats just like out of someones dreams)
