I think World Trade Center is going to win!

A lot of cool buildings were built in the 70s...my favorite is the Aon center, looks so futuristic for a box built more than 30 years ago, hope it makes it far At least there won't be any nationalism in this competition

Jan, do you need pictures for the competition?

I can get some from Flickr, the ones that are Creative Commons Licensed.

^ Thanks for the offer. If you want to you can run through the images I have found for this contest by using this url:

PHP Code:
http://xl.skyscrapercity.com/images/oneonone/yyyymmddxx.jpg
...where yyyy = year, mm = months, dd = day and xx is either 01 or 02. So the first image on the first matchup would be.

PHP Code:
http://xl.skyscrapercity.com/images/oneonone/2011071801.jpg
Which produces this image:

If you think you can find us better ones, please let me know. Mind the image size must be 330 x 330 px. Cheers!

IDS Center by Black Box Images, on Flickr

IDS Center

The 792-foot (241-meter) tall IDS Center was designed by Phillip Johnson and was opened in 1972.
The design of the IDS Center allows each floor 32 corner offices instead of the typical four and column-free interiors allowing tenants the maximum flexibility for their office space. Because of this success, the Phillip Johnson and the other IDS Center architects received an Honor Award for Design from the American Institute of Architects in 1975.

The transamerica building will probably be my favourite. WTC is nothing special imo. Sears tower is ugly as hell.

Please correct the spelling of 'prelimenary' in 'prelimenary rounds'!

I'm sorry if this is off-topic.

#12 - Hancock Place
Boston's tallest building since 1976, the John Hancock Tower is a 60 story glass monolith built in the shape of a parallelogram. From certain angles it appears to be 2 dimensional, and is *arguably* the world's greatest example of minimalism.

Edit: These are all my pictures, not from flickr
