Actually I think the youth accommodation is next to the West Stand of the mini stadium. Can't quite make out the text though.

On my way back from the Etihad stadium after the press briefing of the proposal. Taken plenty of pictures and a video. Will upload them as soon as I get back home. Can somebody post this on Blue Moon as well. Phone internet connection playing up. Thanks.

copied off the other City thread
Complete with retyped words as I could read them image hosted on flickr ![]() Bigger version http://www.flickr.com/photos/live8up...n/photostream/ DOH and spot the obvious mistake - 1st Team Pitches 7, 8 and 9 should be Pitches 5,6 and 7 :-( |

First of all I would like to thank Danny Wilson, Vicky Kloss, and Manchester City Football Club for inviting me to the presentation and press briefing of the propsed Manchester City training complex this morning. I'd also like to thank them both and John Stemp for taking time out to speak to me in person.
These images and club statement are taken from a USB stick which was included in the press pack. The images (and club statement) are available on other websites, but they aren't as big. I will post the pictures and video of the model, etc, I have taken today as soon as possible. ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

Did you note that the main stadium shown at the top of JRBs next to last post, has three tiers!
Also what is the circular stadium at the other side of Phillip's Park? Would this be the new Belle Vue Speedway? Thanks!

Just uploading pictures of the model, etc now. I will post a couple of pics to start off with, then go for a brew.(dieing for a drink) One or two snippets to add. Nothing earth shattering, but still relevant. Got some great pictures of Pat talking to the press guys. Legend. :-) |

Looks like a sliding roof there.

It'd be excellent to have top draw athletics in the city going forward.
Suspect about 7,000 is about right. This, along with the 16,000 speedway track is great news. |

strange design, there seems to be a housing for a sliding roof over the twin pitches.

Or has one roof been removed in the model to show what's underneath.

So how much of this is open to the residents of East Manchester then?
As much as possible hopefully. If it's only there for employees of City then it's about as exciting as a new training pitch at Carrington. |

P.S. Having said that, this is all very 'Team Barcelona' in approach which is impressive.

the 7,000 seat "community use" stadium does seem to explain the rejection of the 5,000 capacity "community use" stadium put forward by FC United on the other side of Phillips Park.
