General Toronto Upcoming Development News and Rumours Thread
We have sections for high and lowrise developments but I it would be good to have a general thread for upcoming news for developments and rumours, before they formally become materialized proposals.

60 floors? GAA why not 90?!?! since 55 floors seems to be the new norm, i guess it won't be too long before we see something aorund 90 floors.

Could be excellent news if the two historical buildings are maintained in whole. That space/park between them is useless, anyway, and was never used by people when it was open to the public.

When I saw the elevation drawings for 501 Yonge, I was initially disappointed too. However, I recently came to terms that all opinions should be held until we actually see this in full colour and detail renderings. But in any circumstance, a pair of modernist glass boxes won't be so bad and will be an automatic upgrade for that block any day. The recent Cityplace developments (Montage, Luna, Parade) developed within the last 2-3 years are mediocre but not totally crap. They may be a bit lacking at street level, but I would never consider it to be POS's. Downtown Toronto has come a long way since the days of RoCP and French Quarter.

Wow!! 1 Bloor West is back on track!
Twin 80's towers could be quite dramatic...

That 100 storey rumour seems like nothing more then just a rumour.

Not so much. If the name Manulife was attached to it then perhaps. Sadly a 100 floor condo is not what Yorkville needs.

Depends entirely on what part of "Yorkville". Don't forget the term "Yorkville" has been so stretched and manipulated by real estate agents that it includes Charles Street East by now.
Sort of like calling the dumpiest part of Ontario or George Street "Lower Cabbagetown".
