Am I alone in thinking it is selfish (or at least self serving) to raise dogs in the city? Dogs want to run and play -and not just on the weekends.

Not all dogs are rugged athletic outdoor types. There are tons of breeds and plenty of them are appropriate for the city. My dog hates mud, won't go near bodies of water and sleeps most of the day regardless of her surroundings. She's perfectly happy and healthy.

You all sound like soulless old grumps! Dogs are great. Yes there are careless pet owners, there are also careless drivers, should cars be banned too?

Any chance we can get this thread back on point?

I came here to learn about the latest on this development, not a discussion about dogs.

That being said, I think this an important project for the stadium district and could well determine the future of the area. Dog gone it anyway.

Alright. Who else is going to the groundbreaking/block party Monday evening? It's just a block away from my work, so I'll probably be there.

Parking tiff settled; stadium-lot development ready to go

An ambitious redevelopment project in CenturyLink Field's sprawling north parking lot — considered key to revitalizing Pioneer Square — will break ground next week now that a last-minute dispute over replacement stadium parking has been settled, the project's developer said Thursday.

I can always tell when I'm in a building that allows cats. I'd take a dog barking every once in a while or jumping on me in the elevator than to have the constant stink of cat piss emanating from a number of apartments.

As opposed to, um, the constant stink of dog piss? From dogs who are untrained or who are simply nervous and want to pee on things? There is this thing called cat litter. They say the vast majority of cats use it--just like dogs go outside to do their business.

Anyway, yes, North Lot! Glad to know that all the entities involved have settled this parking row and moved on toward construction.

So I'm at the block party now. It's in FX McRory's. Very crowded. Don't know of any of you are here, lol.

EDIT: Just spoke with Dow Constantine

I think it's OK to have a couple of small dogs in an apartment, but I do have a problem with people having multiple large dogs in an apartment. I think it's kind of cruel.

Excellent idea (among other residential-supporting services)!!

Uwajimaya is not really a general pop servicing grocery store. Then again, neither is Whole Foods! Maybe a QFC or Safeway. They seem to be doing more urban concepts stores.

Uwajimaya carries lots of Western stuff. Though it's usually more expensive there.
