I do not like the big podium at all, though.
![]() It looks like we basically lost an entire tower: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ABP...2016290334.jpg The article still mentions another tower in the first phase... Hopefully they're just omitting it from the new renderings and I'm worrying about nothing! |

The first phase is just the two towers with third coming from that same podium down the road in the future. Im pretty sure the article mentioned that but regardless thats been the plan for a while.

I love how they've included some of the waterfront plans in this rendering. |

That design is great! I really really hope what is built and survives the whole 'process' of review is close to that render.

Generally speaking, I am not a fan of avant garde architecture for the sake of being avant garde. However, for this project in this location, I feel it is the appropriate choice. I like that the developer has chosen not to do the 'Disney' version of a project that looks like a modern take on a circa 1890 building. This is a good transition from the stadiums to Pioneer Square. And yes, with the modern design, nightlife, and middle market positioning of the project, it should be a shot in the arm for the neighborhood. Not the cureall, mind you, but a beginning.

I like it. Everyone on the ST comments is bashing it but I think it's a great addition to the city... Now about the color...

I don't know if the rendering is actually the color of the building. When you go to the website you see different images where it looks more clear than blue. I also had to chuckle at some of the comments on the ST, the comment about it being a borg ship made me snort coffee through my nose and I think I might have to call the tower The Borg from now on.

After another pause, it looks like the backhoes are back at work on the site. Looking forward to following the progress of this project (and the developing neighborhood).

Based on visual, this project is GETTING DOWN to business about as fast as a rug dealership goes OUT of business.

There really are a lot of rug dealerships in Pioneer Square, aren't there? Why is that?

The construction schedule says they were to start driving piles for the crane foundation today - anyone close to the site to see if they're on schedule?
