AP I Develops Airport City in Five Airports
By Tri Listiyarini

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I (Angkasa Pura Airports) is preparing a new business scenario following the government’s decision to remove APBN’s (state budget) financing portion in air side development of 25 commercial airports in the country starting January 2013. The state-owned company plans to build five airports with the concept of airport city, whereby allowing non-aero revenue be the source of the company’s financing in the future.

The five airports possible to be developed with an airport city concept are Ngurah Rai (Bali), Sepinggan (Balikpapan), New Yogyakarta, Hasanuddin (Makassar), and Juanda (Surabaya). Currently, development of three airports has already started with a total funding of Rp 4.9 trillion prepared by Angkasa Pura Airports, whereas the development of two other airports are being set up.
