One flight a day is a busy line for Estonia But actually there should be 3 flights a day between Moscow and Tallinn.

For some time the train was as expensive as the plane which made taking the train pretty much pointless. It has been cheaper for a while but that still hasn't brought back the passengers.

Valga-Rīga

Though since February that is also just once per day instead of 3 times. It should be back to 3 times per day when PV gets their modernized DMUs.

You should have read the second sentence...

In the Latvian forum it is said that Valga has lost its trains to Riga,
excepted during week-ends. One of your posts, by the way. Or am
I totally confused now ?

I made a mistake back then. People do that - make mistakes

There IS one train per day on Valga-Rīga-Valga. And three trains at the weekends.

...and here's the last departure of the Tallinn-Moscow train.
Now Estonia has only one "international" train: Valga-Riga.

(the first shot is showing the train going from the depot to the station)

It is indeed.

Eesti Raudtee (the Estonian Railways) is still hoping to reach a compromise with the Russian Railways to continue operating the Tallinn-Moscow line with Russian railway cars but this is becoming more and more unlikely.

Go Group which previously operated on both Tallinn-St.Petersburg and Tallinn-Moscow lines has said that reopening St.Petersburg line probably won't happen before 5 years and even then only if the political situation improves, the infrastructure is upgraded on both sides and the border procedures are performed on board the train. The average speed between EST/RU border and St.Petersburg was only 70 km/h and the border procedures took a lot longer than for buses which made the railway line uncompetitive.

AFAIK, Russia is planning to electrify their side of the railway. If Estonia did the same it would help with keeping the cost of operating the trains down but unfortunately Estonia has absolutely no plans to electrify any lines in the foreseeable future...

Estonia to order new inter-city trains
Tuesday, May 19, 2015

ESTONIA's state-owned passenger operator Elron says it wants to order a new fleet of three five-car inter-city trains for the 190km route linking the capital Tallinn with the country's second city Tartu

According to Estonian newspaper Postimees Elron CEO Mr Andrus Ossip met with economy and infrastructure minister Mr Kristen Michal on May 19 to discuss the proposals. Ossip says the ministry is supportive of Elron's plans and a final decision on whether to proceed is expected next month

Well, I'm partly glad, because there is gonna be some investment in the Estonian railways, but only 3 trainsets? That's ridiculous. They should buy at least 6 of them.

Those 3 trains are only for a single line.

Riga - Valga 12:25 - 16:43

Valga - Tallinn 16:52 - 20:09

The train to Tallinn waits in Valga to the train from Riga?

It is possible to shop the ticket Riga - Tallinn from Riga railway station and Tallinn - Riga from Tallinn railway station? In Valga no time to shop the ticket Valga - Tallinn from Valga railway station.

In Valga no time to shop the ticket Valga - Tallinn from Valga railway station.-That is true

But you can buy tickets on the train with ease or even online I think and also you can buy ticket from Riga station for Riga-Valga part, and in Tallinn station you can buy tickets for Tallinn-Valga part.
