This what I read at this website: http://www.chicagotribune.com/busine...,3150609.story

16th Paragraph saying: The 120-story tower would measure 2,000 feet to its roof, making it more than 500 feet taller than the Willis Tower. If built, the tower would top the 1,776-foot One World Trade Center now under construction in New York City .

It would be 2000 ft to the Roof. And the Antennas still havent been added. They say it will be 500 ft taller the the Sears Tower.

NOT:

From July 21:

Representatives of Mr. Davies' firm, International Property Developers, submitted documents to the city Thursday afternoon to support zoning changes allowing the development, the beginning of an approval process that could last several months or even years. Mr. Davies aims to begin construction on the first phase — the redevelopment of the post office building at 433 W. Van Buren St. — within 90 days of receiving city approval. He plans to convert the post office building into retail, parking and hotel space. In the next phase, he plans to develop a property to the west of the post office, currently the site of a Holiday Inn, into more retail space for big-box retailers and a hotel tower.

Curbed Chicago

Hey, Look: Somebody Made a Mockup of that Post Office Plan

Wednesday, July 27, 2011, by Mark Boyer

When Bill Davies and his people unveiled that crazy plan to build a mega-development around the Old Main Post Office, they released just one rendering of the five skyscrapers, which most observers took to be placeholders. Some more detailed site plans are available on Booth Hansen's website, but aside from the one rendering, there really isn't much for skyscraper fanatics to get excited about. So one enterprising member of the SkyscraperCity community identified as DinoVabec took it upon himself to produce some mockups, showing what the proposed 2,000-foot-tall tower might look like in the context of the Chicago skyline. "Don't forget," writes DinoVabec, "this is NOT final design."

Wow. Congrats Dino. And congrats to the entire SSC community for becoming big enough that developers are actually looking here

Zoning changes only. Which is the whole point of this pathetic "proposal". If the zoning change goes through, the property instantly becomes more valuable and Davies will most likely proceed to flip the parcels off to the highest bidder(s). He has a great track record of flipping, not developing... stop working yourself up people, this scheme will never see the light of day.

Yeah lol, next time you read something on Curbed you'll get something like this: "According to the member [insert name here] on Skyscrapercity the tower X is likely to proceed ... ."
