^I agree, although I think it'd look better if it more toward the center of the skyline. Right now where it is, it makes the skyline extremely lopsided. This thing right next to Willis on the edge of the skyline. Don't forget that there will also be two 60 floor towers next to this thing as well, so we have maybe SIX (the 120floor tower, the two 60floor towers, Willis, and AT&T, which is quite close to Willis, and 311 South Wacker, which is quite tall as well) of the citie's tallest buildings right next to each other. That's just too much density and height to be put on the edge of the skyline in my opinion

Projects like this are what inspire new towers to be developed to fill in the skyline.

country?

Donald Trump has nothing to do with this project.

if you look at those 4 antennas I would say they stretch to about 2300 feet tall.

So if this can go up before Kingdom Tower and India Tower does, the US will have the world's second tallest building to the pinnacle

And overall 6th in the world after Kingdom Tower, Burj Khalifa, India Tower, Ping'an International Finance Centre and Shanghai Tower

Regardless, Shanghai Tower will TO before this does.

I know, but still.

So everyone on this thread, let's take a quick poll. Will this be built? Or will this not be built?

I do think it is possible, but it seems many of the naysayers have quiet themselves lately.

this wont be built unless it is greatly revised. the 2000ft tower, as unlikely as it is for it to be built, isnt in my opinion the most unrealistic component of this plan. in my opinion, the most unrealistic part is the gigantic retail base that it would sit on, and unless that is scaled back considerably this will not be built.

I don't think the 610m building will be built but I see phase one being built though.

people will hate me for that, but im quite happy the chicago spire didnt make it, for two reasons mainly:

1. the chicago spire had a shape which didnt fit into the skyline. Chicago for me is boxy and i love its boxy style. sure there are towers that arent as boxy as willis tower for example, but the overall skyline is and i would love that to stay like it is. This project will not destroy the boxy style though, it just blends in.
2. the location was on harbour outside the main skyline, it kinda didnt fit, but this one is so near to willis tower and it would really fit inside this skyline

I wasn't a fan of the Chicago spire but it had a better design than this building. Not much better but better none the less

I don't hate it, as a matter of fact, if it was in another city it would love it personally.

The Chicago Spire was elegant and enchanting. It's location was perfect. For me it was like a dream project.

I can't conceive of anyone doing anything but love it let alone disliking it.

Yes I liked the Chicago Spire very much. And I like this new complex too!

Why don't they build both, Chicago Spire and this one??

Well, I never really liked the Spire's design. It looked like a 2000 foot ***** However this building looks really cool. I think it would be good if Chicago would get this building instead of the Spire
