While Chicago has a great skyline I think New York has much better density and metropolisnish (hey I made a new word . But yes the Willis tower is the most imposing building in the world, and all black buildings for that matter.

I will only believe that this one will be built if I see the towers rising. Otherwise in this economic climate (and with a hieght-reduced Waterview Tower and a huge hole in the ground where the Chicago Spire would be build) I just do not see this happening. A pipe-dream? (And not even a nice one if you ask me, it is very tall, but that is all).

It'll even out. Some architecture enthusiasts in Chicago have said over the next decade, there are a "good amount" of super talls & skyscrapers proposed for Chicago. I can't imagine NYC doing a supertall after the WTC is built for a while.

LOL man, where have you been lately? Hiding in a cave? Btw the new President of the United States is Obama, just so you know...

- 1WTC
- 432 Park Avenue
- 2WTC
- Hudson Yards North Tower
- 15 Penn Plaza
- One Manhattan West
- 3WTC
- The Girasole
- Tower Verre
- One57
- 225 West 57th Street
- Hudson Yards South Tower

Chicago is the one, which has not a single supertall U/C, in preparation or approved.

I don't know much about this project. A 600m tower would be nice for Chicago, but i also can't imagine this will ever get build

I thought this was a pipe dream the second I saw this... I knew it wasn't going to happen. First, the totally unreasonable height and size, the amateur renders + design and basically everything else about it. It just doesn't seem like anything that would happen.

Even though I was a fan of the Chicago Spire I think is a much better tower to replace it. It just shouts out Chicago, and fits right in the skyline. Hope this actually becomes reality.
