You're right, but, I really hope 2000foot is roof height, then this tower add the atennas or spire can beat Shanghai tower by height.
I like chicago more than shanghai.
in my mind, first let this new building beat ST,then let sears tower beat SWFC(by atenna height),last let chicago trump tower beat jinmao tower, and chicago still has aon centre and john hancock, haha!

Yeah me to. The US needs some new compition between skyscrapers.
1WTC needs a competing tower and this could be it.
Like back in the old days when it was the original WTC v the Willis Tower.

I agree with you. That was just horrible.

Has there been any other info found on this redevelopment. I think it's been a while since we have heard anything about this.

Wait. Why are people taking this "proposal" seriously, again?

Probably because people (me included) would like to see a megatall in the US. While it may or may not get built, its much more suited to Chicago than the Chicago spire was.

If this gets built then that would be a great competition!

Stop shaking this topic, the chances of that happening are the same as Miapolis in Miami.

Although I somewhat agree that this is a likely no to the project, I do think its good to have some hope in to this project. I mean there is a slight chance a this happening.. This is not fully a "No".

Exactly. I don't understand why some people treat this as a vision or even a fantasy. This is a serious proposal and it has a realistic chance of getting built. It has also a realistic chance that it won't be built just as every other proposed building. I don't see this proposal being any less probable or less realistic than for example 15 Penn, 432 Park or the Hudson Yards

For one this Bill Davies guy has no experience in tall buildings. Even CTBUH list this thing as a vision.

15 Penn, I'm not so sure about. But it got a lot closer to becoming a reality then this did. However, it's effectively on hold for the moment. 432 Park Ave is literally starting and will be rising within a year or two. Hudson Yards will be starting soon as well. The shorter 996 foot tower will be rising within two or three years and the taller 1279 foot tower simply needs a tenant.

THIS on the other hand is far from any of those.

Thank you azn. Hudson Yards South has a tenant, 432 Park is in prep, and 15 Penn is much more likely to get built than this just given the sheer size of this development. Honestly, it's the same discussion on every page. Until someone can show that there is demand for this much office space in Chicago I'm skeptical and will view this as a vision.

It may be far less likely than any of those in NY, but it IS a real proposal. I have a good feeling about it. Several megatalls have been proposed for Chicago over the last couple decades but none of them made it off the ground. The Chicago WTC never came to be, and neither did the Spire. Third time's the charm, right?

I hope youre right.

As for the Hudson Yard project whether its happening or not it was once hard to believe that it was going to happen same thing with the Burj Khalifa we had our doubt. And although Bill Davies doesn't have experience with Supertalls there's always a first for something. This might just be it.
