It's not even a real proposal. I don't know why this thread is still open.

It's more of a vision, but could be a real proposal someday, there's no reason why not.

Then again, a lot of proposals in the proposal section are more like visions.

It wasn't too bad I believe. I think they took care of it. It was the fan on top of the roof which lit an electrical fire. Don't think this will change or add any plans in regards to this Development plan, still the same visionary. Just thought I'd post that in there since I saw the threat bumped.

It was a real proposal, but now it's staled. Too bad, this building would have been incredible

No, not really, it has always been more like a vision

Not saying that something won't eventually be put there but it won't be this

I remember when this project was announced all the fan boys were very excited and lashed out at anyone who had any criticism of this project. When I said the city would NEVER allow this development to move forward as is I got roasted by the fan boys. Well, looks like I was right.

Safety concerns at old post office addressed, but development remains stalled

Bill Davies bought the old post office building at auction and has recently been addressing safety issues at the site. (Chris Walker, Chicago Tribune / September 2, 2012)

Melissa Harris' Chicago Confidential

September 2, 2012
Bill Davies, the eccentric Monaco-based owner of Chicago's old post office, wants to turn the hulking mass that straddles Congress Parkway into a mecca of shopping, office space, residences, etc.

But the building sits rotting and untouched because, among several reasons, Davies wants to mount a parking garage over the parkway, and city officials are refusing to allow it, according to two sources close to the project.

And the Fordham (Chicago) Spire too! Another dissapointment.

I wish they build the Fordham Spire, this one, and the Mile High.
