My post wasn't directed at you. I agree it sounds crazy, but I'm starting to wonder if this is a serious proposal. It is going to be approved next month most likely, and Davies has never gone that far with one of his abandoned projects. If he just wanted to flip this, then he is doing a terrible job of it!

I know it wasn't directed at me. I just said that because I think you don't have to be biased to be doubtful about this project. Lets wait and see if this gets approved but as far as I remember it already passed at least one deadline for approval.

I believe that was the old proposal which really was pretty over-the-top. This revised proposal seems a bit more realistic. I'm not sure if this thing will get approved, but I expect some project to come for the Old Post Office sometime this year if not this one. It's been unused for 15+ years now, they want to at least get an entertainment complex going if the Casino bill is passed.

Awesome drawing, I'm really glad that it has now fully joined the SSP diagrams. This is after all the most awesome proposal of the US currently out there

The diagram far exceeds the renders. I was hoping this would get redesigned after seeing the render, but now I'm embracing the design with open arms.

Isn't that the design that wasn't chosen?
And actually, I like that design better. I don't think the Burj-like design would work well in chicago.

Hope whatever is built does the nearby Sears justice.

I think to this point all we have seen were just mock-ups. So it really doesn't matter which is the most recent because it will anyway most likely look completely different when it finally (if ever) is designed by an actual architectural studio.

If I'm wrong please tell me if any respected architects were involved in making any of the proposed "designs"?

Well, in reality the SSP diagram shows this building as being 497 meters tall with 113 meter spires, so it really is no megatall. Hopefully this at least means that it won't be shortened anymore, but who knows

I do hope they go along with the twin tower design.

In all honesty however, the smaller buildings are the most likely to built, but those aren't pushovers either.

Wow! Amazing renderings!

Hope you dont mind, but I used one of your renders and added it in the Skyline to see how'd it'll look.

Not a pro, but it looks pretty good! When the real renderings come out, it'll be even better! You can see the density & flow of the skyline change.

Truth be told the two cities have been at war the past 125+ years. Only now is the tallest building title starting to get interesting for the first time since 2000 and 2001.

Why is the population of Chicago decreasing? Isn't it one of America's premier and most successful cities? Isn't it a desirable place to live? I have heard there's a bad crime problem there, but that's the only reason I can think of.
