England will also be very strong. Boks are better than us too. Our back line is immense, but thats useless when our forwards get dominated at the break.

Cooper had an off night, but to say they arent even comparable is a bit of a laugh considering the Quade was in a winning team against Carter twice this year in Super Rugby.

A mistake most Aussies make a lot - Super Rugby is NOT Test rugby. As was shown tonight.

In terms of Australia being #2...I meant based on the IRB rankings.

Higgers has to be in the starting line up. That was really disappointing from the Wallabies.

no, but one test match doesnt close the case, QC out performed Carter in Hongkers last year as well.. Super Rugby isnt Test rugby but you that doesnt mean you cant compare the talent of players there.

QC had a bad night, but to make claims like this is drastically over the top

The last world cup was virtually unknown until about 6 months before it kicked off - and that was in the country hosting it! And I bet if you asked 99% of Aussie RL fans, they would prefer NRL and Origin games over tests.

Anway, this is completely off topic.
I know it is completely off topic but surely a bloke has a right of reply to comments he feels is inaccurate? BrizzyChris I'm not delusional, I know that Internationals are not as popular as Origins but they do still hold a place in the RL landscape as ratings as evident by the ratings they receive.

Not sure what you were reading but nowhere was RU mentioned in my debate with BrizzyChris, just merely having my right of reply as everyone should be entitled to have and to the contrary I follow all sport and have been enjoying some of the Uniuon this season but Gan Eden has taken things beyond anything acceptable.

I was also impressed with Higgerbotham, he was enourmous for us when he came on but I really question taking difficult shots at goal at 17-nil down, the Wallabies have done this in the past, goalkicking is not our strength and all it did was lose O'Connor's confidence. I stll think we went ok in patches, we just didn't execute well.

Brisbanite correct me if im wrong, i think you have misinterepreted Chris's comments, the whole point of his comment is that State Of Origin is the pinnacle of rugby league for Australians.. This is subsequently reinforced by the ratings and crowds, in other sports(union & soccer), the international game rates higher then domestic games, in rugby league its the other way around.

I dont think you should interpret that as a negative thing, but its the reality of the situation.

Yeah looking at his original comment I probably misinterpreted it a bit, I know that Origins are maybe the pinnacle for fans but for players, playing for your country is still the highest honour you can have. But RL admin istrators shouldn't just neglect Internationals as was more or less stated and as from this article good to see thay aren't.

Playing for your country is the pinnacle for any player because it means you're the best of the best. However, in terms of importance from a viewer perspective Origin is by far the pinnacle. In fact, the outcome of the Origin is probably more important to the players than any international game, but playing for your country means you are the best in that position which is what every player strives for.

Ok, now discuss rugby. Wallabies weren't so hot the other night, will probably lose in South Africa, but the Bledisloe on our own turf will be totally different.

Well, now that the Boks are bringing back a lot of their top players, this weekend will be a lot tougher for the Wallabies. They still have a good shot to win though.

And yes, Higginbotham HAS to start!

England beat Wales 23 - 19 @ Twickenham on the weekend.

Scotland beat Ireland 10 - 6. (Must have been a snorefest). Ireland were resting some top players though.

Canada beat USA 28 - 22.

Very scrappy 14 - 6 win for the Wallabies over South Africa last night. Both teams looking pretty shabby.

Anyone see the NH games? are they going to provide any credible opposition this year? or is the All Blacks going to romp the WC.

Good move with Horwill to captain, because there is now no need to start Elsom. Giteau missing out is no surprise, he is not test level quality anymore (by Tri-Nations standards anyway).

No idea how Mitchell, Palu, Barnes, Slipper, Polata-Nau plan to get match fit in time...will be a struggle.

Yep, Elsom can be cut free if need be. Pretty miraculous recovery for Mitchell isn't it?

I think it might've been a dislocated ankle? Either way the footage showed his foot pointing one way and his leg the other!

South Africa beat the All Blacks in SA last night. 18-5 was the score. Now NZ & Australia are both locked on 9 points, makes the game next Saturday interesting!

Yes winner takes Tri Nations title...shame about James O'Connor not being there, he's become a vital player
