When referring to the word megatall, we usually mean the buildings that fulfill the definition of the ctbuh, which is 600m tall

level 12-43, office
level 44-104, condo
level 105-138 hotel

the graph above has a mistake which this building supposed to be 138 floors..

so now it'll be the "big pants" and "giant sewing needle?"

I think the design is interesting, but I can't help but feel the renders are offering an odd perspective, confounded by how much the building tapers at the top. I'm not particularly a fan of the hole at the top, but it's not so bad.

Is that feature aesthetic or functional?

It's probably a bit of both. As with Shanghai World Financial Center, it will reduce lateral forces affecting the top of the building. It does seem like a small hole, in proportion to the size of the tower, but unlike SWFC, this building tapers quite a lot on all sides, so there's less surface area to be affected by the wind.

The specific shape though, again like the aperture at SWFC, is likely an aesthetic choice.

Does anybody know where the footprint of the building is in the above pics? Is it where the red machines are or where the concrete latticework is? Or is that another building's foundation/prep
