Piling on the main tower(the north zone) started at the end of 2013 and was suspended at the end of August for building the retaining wall until last month
At the same time, piling on the podium (the south zone)was completed on December 23rd ,2014. and it is building the retainning wall now
All the piling work are supposed to be complete before FEBRUARY ,excavation may begin from February or March
Sorry for my poor English,I have tried my best to convey my ideas

Don't worry, your English is much better than some of the regulars on SSC!

This is almost 100 m taller than Shanghai Tower, Shanghai needs to build an even taller building to reclaim the #1 title.

was at the site today. looking really busy. hope it can move along nicely. I still have no idea how to get to a good overview point, so posting pictures, you wouldn't be able to see to much. on the banners they still don't feature the new design. But on the opposite side, where the currently still concept 450m tower will stand the Zhongnan group created a logo for zhongnan center, which clearly represents the newest and final design. They still seem to keep it all kind of a secret though, since no banner states the height or design of this monster while Suzhou IFS is shown on banners around the city.

With so many top-notch drawings I might be able to make a good 3D model of the construction once it's rising Whoever has access to them, please keep posting

Thanks, Dytiamo, for the detailed building diagram!

I do notice one important detail - the building height is listed as 598 m, not 729 m! So the height has been reduced.

The diagram is dated June, 2013 - so either the height was later increased to 729 m, or the height is correct as it is listed on the construction diagram, and the 729 m as listed in this thread needs to be reduced. Maybe Dytiamo can enlighten us.

On the first diagram pinnacle of the tower is marked with 729 and some Chinese characters. I can't find number 598 anywhere.

Probably 598m is the the top of the roof. The height does not include the spire.

?? On post 1206, I am looking in the lower right part of the first diagram, and it says "Building height - 598 m" with the Chinese character for meters. It is under "plan data" then "technical data". I would quote it here but it won't show up.

As Wilhelm says, it may not include the spire (but that would be surprising).

598m is the height of the highest floor.
