I disagree, this building would look even better without a spire, and a pointy, sharp top instead. This building is a continuous tapering, a soft curve, a closed shape. The spire is the only element that breaks it, and IMO that's not good. Even though, it is a rather insignificant break so I'm not mad about it having a spire. Just saying that it could look even a bit better than it already does.
Now Ping'an on the other hand has (had) basically 4 elements: The tapering part at the base, the main body which rises vertically on top of it, the top section with strong tapering... and the spire, being a counter part to the tapering top, a logical "response" to the design. This is the reason why I want a spire for Ping'an, but not so much for Zhongnan Center

My guess is that it is a rejected design. But it looks pretty good!

Sometimes you get to read from people who actually have a good grasp of (architectural) design. Kudos.

Nice design, I´m glad it will never be realised instead of the original one and the height of this building still wasn´t reduced

WOW ! Not bad ! However older project is pretty good too ! And 750 meters (or maybe 755) would be much better than 729 !

It looks better in the first render than the second. Looks more elegant with just two peaks.
