While your pictures are great, I hate to admit that aside from several old and ornate buildings, a large part of the city looks like a dump! Hopefully now that the US has imposed more of a free market, the Iraqis can start building a more legit-looking city.

that's a bit harsh, Iraq is emerging from years of sanctions/wars...i challenge any city to look this great after everything they've gone through

Looking good! I think Iraq has a good chance to bounce back & recover. It helps there is lot of oil & gas(?). Just need law & order & a proper functioning govt.
