WHY: Dortmund is to be home to the new National Football Museum of the German Football Association (DFB). That was the decision – with 137 votes to 102 – taken by delegates at an extraordinary general meeting of the DFB held in Düsseldorf on 24 April 2009.

Really interesting project! Is the DFB going to pay for it all alone?

Though I think I look both alternative proposals better (Prop 1 and Prop 2).

Kaufmann, could you please also introduce the project there? http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1238159
We don't really get see what's going on in Dortmund in the German forum.

The country encourages the construction of 18.5 million euros, the DFB will pay € 7.9 million from own resources. Further € 10 million to help sponsors like Adidas.

But i cant agree with your opinion of you both alternative, these projects are very expensive. I think Project of the hpp architects is the best choice, i like the big LED Screen in the front of the building it is a good interaction with the LED Screen of the U museum. We need more LED advertising in the near of the central station, its create a feeling of metropolis.

What you think?

Well, i will post a new thread into the german forum for Dortmund

Seriously? I think the final version is by far the best.

as I understand it, is the final version of hpp duesseldorf the favourite. But i like the designe of the Munich project it is like a statue and with 30m height of constructionnot so midget.

Look at the structural environment, the position of the museum is on the right side. What you think is better for this position?

Hard to judge. Would be good to have a little more detail of the facade.

Is the full facade animated or is this some kind of facade painting?

What I like is the big screen. They proabably air all the important games there, right?

It could attract a lot of people if they have Sky and air Bundesliga matches there. No more need for citizens of Dortmund to pay 30 €uros a month for Sky, just go to the museum and you can see the game.

For sure it is hard to judge it is depends on whether the full facade is animated but iam not sure. I really hope thats no kind of facade paiting, i mean the DFB is one of the largest football association of the World and the museum is a big figurehead for Germany and the city of Dortmund. But looking matches on the big screen is very dangerous because is is in the near of the "Königswall" the main street in Dortmunds infrastructure and you know german rules
