African bridges (existing, underconstruction and proposed)

Just thought of starting a thread about bridges found in Africa! As everyone knows bridges are infrastructural pride icons of respective countries and usually demonstrate the advancements of economies of respective countries! To start with here is Kigamboni bridge (680m) to connect Dar es salaam city center and the Kigamboni peninsula that is to start construction this year and is to be funded to the tune of US$ 130 mio. by both the NSSF (60%) and the GOT (40%) (http://www.businesstimes.co.tz/index...news&Itemid=57)

An approximate creek section between Kurasini and Kigamboni that is about to be connected by the mighty Kigamboni bridge

They had to lift/rise it up to allow those huge international ships/tankers to pass underneath (mind you oil refinery, Tazama/Tiper storage facilities are in that side and expansion of the port plus new refineries will be in the Kigamboni side opposite Kurasini)! It is gonna start this year Magufuli has assured us! I trust him..!

No space on the land mind you that is to be a CBD and land is in high demand and very valuable at that location (all major hotels, offices want those plots around the peninsula banks check Kigamboni city master plan)! Guys designers have sat down and came up with that design with all economical aspects under consideration! So there is no bullshit there!

tutti-Khartoum bridge
first suspension bridge in sudan

this is the shortest bridge in khartoum with a lenght of 410 meters, also prabably the shortest since separation the shortest was juba bridge in south sudan capital of 250 meters.

Alhalfaia bridge

this bridge opened in 2011 , until now it is the longest and widest bridge in Sudan. it has 3 lanes on both sides and its length is 910 meters , if work finishes on time at Dabaseen bridge then halfaia bridge won't hold the title of longest bridge in sudan any longer.

Al Dabaseen bridge

This bridge will be longer than Halfaia bridge and it is located on the white nile coming from Uganda, This will be the 3rd bridge linking Omdurman to Khartoum. It is also part of The sudan new international airport, it will be the main way from the new airport to Khartoum city because the airport is located in Omdurman. Because the white nile is extremely wide at this point, the length of the bridge will be 1670 meters but unfortunately it will only have 2 lanes on both sides like most bridges in sudan.
construction will finish march next year.
