Timu ya taifa ya soka ya Wanawake 'Twiga Stars' jana ilianza vyema kampeni za kusaka tiketi za kufuzu kwa fainali za wanawake za Afrika baada ya kuifunga Namibia magoli 2-0 kwenye mchezo uliochezwa kwenye uwanja wa Sam Nujoma katika jiji la Windhoek nchini Namibia.
Magoli yote ya Twiga yalifungwa katika kipindi cha pili cha mchezo huo na washambuliaji Asha Rashid 'Mwalala' na Mwanahamisi Shuruwa.
Ushindi huo umeiweka Twiga Stars katika mazingira mazuri ya kufuzu hatua inayofuata kwa kuwa watakuwa na kazi rahisi kwenye mchezo wa marudiano utakaochezwa kwenye uwanja wa Taifa Januari 29.
Twiga ikifanikiwa kuwatoa Namibia watakutana na mshindi kati ya Misri na Zambia katika hatua nyingine.

Fainali hizo za Afrika kwa wanawake zitafanyia jijini Harare nchini Zimbabwe Novemba mwaka huu.

Taifa Stars and visiting Democratic Republic of Congo battled to a barren draw in their friendly international played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Each side was playing the match as a build up for African Nations Cup qualifier first legs scheduled for next Wednesday.

Tanzania’s national team Taifa Stars managed a 1-0 victory over Kenya's Harambee Stars in a friendly game played at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.

Stars striker and last year’s top scorer John Bocco was on the bench, while Kenya's wonderboy Victor Wanyama was ruled out.

A highly contested game it was, Taifa Stars getting a breakthrough early in the game, a goal that stood till the final whistle.

Aggrey Morrice scored the only goal of the game which resulted from a corner early in the sixth minute.

“It was a tough game for sure, we thank God - we have won the game,” Stars Captain Juma Kaseja told SuperSport.com.

“The team played very well, despite two days of training. The opponents played well, but I think we were the lucky side,” he added.

Taifa Stars Team: Juma Kaseja, Shomari Kapombe, Amir Maftah, Aggrey Morrice, Kevin Yondan, Frank Domayo, Salum Abubakar, Mwinyi Kazimoto, Mbwana Samatta, Mrisho Ngassa and Thomas Ulimwengu.
