Really nice, I really like the wooden touch, it's quite unique compared to other metro systems.

I doubt it's real wood, it would be inflammable...

The stations are really a LOT better than the rest built recently in China.
Xi'an gives some character to them.

For the pictures: i like also the idea of adding the station name and the pictograms above

Xi'an metro continues to relentlessly grow, daily ridership hovering at 450,000 per day. With a 780,000 passenger record in golden week.

I don't know, IMHO the stations look very cheap, mixing aesthetically pleasing decoration and wood trim with marble floor and wall don't really work.

To me this is the most beautiful metro system in China. I don't see anything that would be unfit.

It's bricolage. It's perfectly suitable for a subway station. Better than some of the marble and bathroom tile stations built during the 1970s in USSR.

Was in Xi'an recently and must say was disappointed with the metro system. Trains are too narrow and capacity is insufficient even for current ridership. Crowding during peak hours gives Beijing a run for its money. The stations themselves are also small. The station entrances (above ground) all have same (bland) design, and again, are too small, imo.

Probably has to do with the low frequencies of trains ATM. How long did it take for each train to come?

Right that's the other thing, a train came every 5 mins.

Huh, I found it to be less crowded than Beijing. At least I could move around if needed, while in Beijing I'm sort of stuck in whatever shape I arrived on the train with.

Love the look of these stations!! except for that one pic where it looks like there is fake grass green carpeting. really should just dump that..

On another note, i love the pictograms that relate to the stations!! In my home city, our commuter rail uses pictograms as well for stations and it is one way to really make the system legible, user friendly and broadly scoped for different users, including speakers of different languages, the illiterate and young children.

Actually I think that is just a temporary fixture to cover up the stairwell that will be connecting to the under construction Line 4 platforms.
