This American city has to be a close second after NYC in terms of architecture and style. Great pics.

Chicago is great and those pictures are wonderful. It's like Europe in skyscrapers - those talls have so much detail, even more so than New York.
One question though: what's with the Parisian metro entrance? Haha.

Wow, Chicago looks marvellous! Public space is so... elegant. This city has its charm, I think it's even classier than New York. And I love those streets under railways!

Chicago doesn´t need to be jealous of NY.
It´s an incredible city and has a lot of personality.

Quote:
For many US cities, 19th century Paris style has always been an irresistible model. This is certainly true for Chicago under the 2nd Mayor Daley... Although I do think that the Paris-style "metro" entrance is a bit too literal, I certainly don't dislike it. But yes, I do think that a Chicago-style entrance would have been more appropriate... And too slavish a copy is never a good thing, no matter how wonderful the model... It hints of a lack of imagination. |
