Had been to Kannur mall this Tuesday and disappointed to see the layout of the mall. Not many stores are open. Ground floor is taken by reliance trends and Lee, Wrangler and Benetton are opening their stores soon. Food court and restaurant are getting ready. I'll not call this a MALL but a modern shopping centre.

Whats is the difference between Mall and Shopping Centre. Is there any criteria ? By the way, i dont like outside look of the kannur mall, it was different from that of basic plan, and first 3 floors looks like SOAP BOXES..

Like star hotels their should be an agency to rate malls. They can give different ratings like four star, five star etc. So we can say which mall is more MALL and which mall is small mall.

I think people are disappointed with the number of stores. Some are disappointed that Reliance occupies most of the space. I feel this has completed now only because of Reliance. There are malls which were completely taken over by textile giants. Atleast this has a decent number of other brands. Less open space is another complaint. Hope the upcoming malls will take care of that. Or else city center has a big atrium. Go play there.

This has got notable branded stores and a food court. I think that's enough to call it a Mall. The revolving restaurant is the USP. There only a few of them in India. That is going attract enough crowd(unless the motor gets jammed).

Unless the food served is worth consuming, the restaurant will not pull crowd on a regular basis. Revolving restaurants in India and UAE, i have seen, has not been able to attract crowd as with the hype created.

maybe this ad is for the kfc outlet in thana square..there was an info. that thana square will open in the beginning of 2013.

I am aware of this info. The sources has clearly said "before" Jan 2013. So, we cannot be sure.
