I'll take a photo with a tissue box (lol) in my next update, so here's something for now:

* and older photo comparing an ipod and a 12 inch ruler:

Also in this photo below, if you look closely at the white paper, you can see their outlines, each cutout is a standard 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper., and the wood base is approx 2ft x 4ft

Quite a bit of progress over this past weekend.

- Old City Hall is partially complete (the roof isn't finished yet).
- Karma condos has a lot of height going for it/impact on the skyline... WAY more so than i expected.
- More of University Ave including Residences of the RCMI

I got tired of waiting, so i built Massey Tower and 88 Scott (not very accurately, but it gets the job done).

Massey tower's impact will be HUGE on the skyline from the east/west. wow. it's crazy.

88 Scott also has pretty big impact on the financial district in terms of visually expanding it.

Furthermore, some more blocks extending University Ave. north were built, as well as the MET condos.

Wow you have amazing talent as a scale modeler! One thing that has kept me from doing the same thing is measurements. For the life of me I just can't figure out how to get the measurements is all the buildings especially the small ones. What do you do to get them?

for height measurements, I use information from databases (ex skyscraper page), google maps, etc... then use my own scale to shrink it down appropriately if that's what you mean, srry it's hard to explain without writing an essay lol

Not a whole lot of progress, i've slowed down quite a bit lately, but i finally got around to building Metro Hall,
also, the entertainment district/university ave continues northwards.

Great models! Physical models are such fantastic architectural tools. I look forward to seeing more! Hopefully you will get into some of the more prominent neighbourhoods around the city, making builders of smaller scales, ie Cabbagetown or the Annex.

not a whole lot of progress, but this thing IS slowly but surely expanding. pretty soon i'm gonna get another base and expand northward. doubling the model area.

Ok steveve, I have a question that is totally optional to answer. I'm confused as I always pictured you as my age (going into grade 12) but the article said that you were a high school graduate. Are you a year older than me or did you graduate early?

That model should replace the one at City Hall. The City Hall one is outdated and some of the buildings look nothing like reality. Excellent job steveve!

Good job Steve. What do you plan to do with it in the long run? Have you thought about setting it up at Nuit Blanche and working on it there?
