nice job, Zamosc is amazingly beautiful, a real renaissance pearl, but it seems awefully quiet for peak summer season. they need to plan more events there, conventions etc, because this city is spectacular but almost no one knows about it.

I was, but not this time. When they finish rebuilding those fortifications, I will definitely visit. my trip ended up being dominated by business matters....a good thing, but didn't have enough free time to explore this amazing country.

Thanks for the aerial view. It really makes the outline of the excavation project clear to me. It's a great thing they're doing that now!
The horse shoe shaped building on the left is the former Zamoyski residence I assume. Is the interior interesting at all? @Urbanista Yes, it's quiet indeed. It's in the far east corner of the country and also really small, what do you expect . Be glad it isn't flooded with tourists, like Cracow.

Kozlowka (23km from Lublin) has the Zamoyski Family Museum. The Zamoyski family is the most famous aristocratic family in Poland.
![]() The original palace was built in the first half of 18th century for Michał Bieliński; its architect was Jozef II Fontana. It represents the characteristic type of baroque suburban residence built entre cour et jardin (between the entrance court and the garden). Its architecture is original - a merger of European art with old Polish building traditions. In 1799, the Palace was acquired by the aristocratic Zamoyski family. It currently hosts a Zamoyski family museum, while its stables are home to a small socrealism museum. image hosted on flickr Backyard by drobers76, on Flickrimage hosted on flickr _MG_4639 by tiroy, on Flickrimage hosted on flickr Kozłówka 6 by Jacek Lisowski, on Flickr

Those were not my shots
![]() But that interior is pretty amazing. Has to be one of the most opulent in Poland.

very impressive...I particularly enjoy original interiors, so rare to find sadly....they exude the richness of the culture so much more then recreated exteriors.
