I really like the design of this ground. Many clubs today are criticised for building grounds with little character and with financial restraints this seems more and more common in the lower leagues (Colchester, Shrewsbury, Chesterfield etc - no offence intended to those teams), but this ground looks 'different'.
Looking forward to paying a visit once complete. |

Ah so the river is the Don, let's hope it doesn't flood a-la 2007 again!
Great location though, next to the river in the city centre, they're doing the opposite of Shrewsbury and moving into town (and even closer than Millmoor). 5 minute walk from the main station too. Will be the best package for a small stadium in the country. |

They've already raised the ground level by 2 metres, so hopefully that'll help in regards to any flooding issues.

They certainly do look steep. It is interesting to see this ground being built simply because it looks like being something a little different from the norm compared with similar sized ones that have been built in recent years - a better looking design than Chesterfield's even, my previous favourite in this size bracket.

Looks like it's going to be a cracking stadium and a snip at 20 million.
The rake of the stands should keep spectators close to the action and create an excellent atmosphere. Hopefully with this new stadium Rotherham can realise their potential and return to the championship, they are far too well supported to be stuck in the fourth tier in an athletics stadium which as an Albion fan I can sympathise with! |

The steepness of the stands is just the best!

What I am curious about is are the areas of the main stand where there doesn't appear to be any seating at the ends of the stand as shown in post 33s 1st pic , are these areas for wheelchair access? This makes me proud to have this as my home town clubs new ground whereas Millmoor embarrassed me.

I take it the club expect to open the stadium during the summer ready for next season? |

Interesting, I wasn't expecting the interior to be as much of a bowl as that animation seems to indicate. It looks like the height on the main stand is almost entirely dictated by the row of corporate boxes at the back of it rather than because it has more rows of seats.

That's what I thought. Slightly disappointed I must say, as I hoped the step downs in the roof might be matched with a step down in tier height(rows). I suppose, looking back at the renders, it's there to be seen, clear as day: a bowl. Oh well, still a nice attractive stadium and the angle of rake is a big plus.
