BEG Airport Reduces Fees to Airlines Again

Quote:

For the third time within a year the "Nikola Tesla" Airport is reducing fees for services rendered to airlines.

For the third time within a year the "Nikola Tesla" Airport is reducing fees for services rendered to airlines. From January 1st of the following year, landing fees will be decreased by 5%, while infrastructure usage price will be 4% cheaper. Lower prices will all round refer to all airlines and aircraft types.

A statement of the General Director of the “Nikola Tesla” Airport Prof. Velimir Radosavljevic PhD ME: "We are confined that by this decision we will inspire a market competition between air-carriers and that passengers receiving better service per less money for air tickets will take a great advantage of this decision”.

During last year and a half, Belgrade Airport was scoring matchlessly faster growth of traffic turnover in comparison to competitive airports in the region and in the middle of December it surpassed a figure of 3 million of handled passengers in 2011.

Thus, for instance, in October, in comparison to the same month of the previous year, monthly passenger number increase was 20%, while Sofia Airport scored decrease. In November, upon the same criterion, Belgrade had the increase of 18% and the "Nikola Tesla" Airport, with 215,000 passengers had higher turnover rate!

Impressive one!
I got one more unique bird for you. The only B737-200 that is left in Europe. It has been with Aviogenex since it came on the planet. Freshly painted and overhauled, with many years left in her.

Not a bad deal at all, and they have been sending their Airbus A321 to Belgrade. Nikola, Serbia and Spain have good political, economic and tourism ties. I bet Iberia will come soon to BEG.

^Belgrade Public Transit purchased around 30 new trams from Spanish company CAF. So I think everything is going in a good direction.

Qatar might be coming to Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport within this year. it good thing to know.... passenger bound DOHA there not lots of passenger from Australia only it bound these cities

ABU DHABI
DUBAI
which it popular country from australia.
but there is no belgrade flight from abu dhabi.

and i had to go Melbourne, abu dhabi then Istanbul to Belgrade with JAT or TURKISH

abu dhabi need belgrade flight like i say the ETIHAD to send maybe the a320 or any size fleet

would been better for those people from australia and traveling toward belgrade

There was a flight from Belgrade to Abu Dhabi with Jat, but it did not work out. There are not many Serbs in AUH, but there are quite a few in Dubai, so Jat switched their flights back to Dubai. I still think that Etihad can make the flights work. When you foctor in Jat, Qatar and Fly Dubai, I am sure Lufthansa monopoly can be avoided. Once you have the connections to these mega hubs such as DXB-DOH-AUH, it would not make any sense to use any other European hub. Having said that, there are quite a few Serbs that still fly via FRA and London when they travel to Australia. I flew with British not that long ago when they served BEG, and there were like fifteen Aussie Serbs in the plane going to BEG from LHR. I am not sure why is this the case. Maybe they don't want to fly Jat? Now it is a lot different I guess.

Here is the picture from the late 1970s when JAT introduced the DC10 to JFK. They probably flew some 707s during the 1960s. She was a stunner one of a kind.

I must of flown at least twenty times on this bird from YYZ, brings back great memories, also remember those pit stops in Montrea all the time. I loved this livery.

I remember back in the day when I was younger on the roof of old terminal one in YYZ seing this DC-10, and JAT 707 parked right next to it, gate, to gate.

Also flew on the 707 a few times, and the DC-9, 722, 733s.

Ha do you have any pictures?

I have the pictures from Toronto - Pearson as well.

This is right after the plane landed. (You can see the Westin Bristol in the back)
I think this was 1991.

Here again in 1985/6, the bird taxing by R24 to be brought close to the former Terminal 2.

As you can see, the 06L did not exist at that time. It was built way after.
