Yes, I hope so. The old jetways are about three decades old, so I am not sure how long they can hold onto them. Now there are some reports that the management wants to get new jetways since they made some nice profit. The airport charges 120 euros for any airline using a jetway. So one way or another, the money is there to be made. Even the low cost uses the Jetways. That's why they have six new ones.

Btw here is the last picture before some major work gets done that will change the look from the air. It will look a lot different because they will fill in the space between the gates. I bet you we are talking about 1500m2 added space just to the transit area alone. On top of that, the seating layout will have to get reconfigurated. It will give us more relaxed transit area experience.

I agree with you. Btw there is a good progress on our new regional airport in Western/Central Serbia. It should be done in a month or two. Lets hope we see it linked to BEG.

Yeah way too many options. Jat can fly from Nis via this new airport on their way to Germany, France and so on.

Some fresh images from January 2012.

SPANAIR TO SUSPEND FLIGHT TO BELGRADE

At midnight Spanair, Spain’s second largest airline, ceased operations after the carrier failed to find a buyer. On Friday, Qatar Airways had walked away from talks to take over the money losing airline after months of negotiations. The government of Spain's Catalonia region is Spanair's main shareholder, while Spanair's former owner, Scandinavian airline SAS, still owns an 11.9% stake. However, the Catalan government says it can no longer finance the airline.
Spanair has ceased all operations, suspending with it scheduled flights to Belgrade and its planned seasonal summer service to Zagreb and Dubrovnik. During this winter season, Spanair operated three weekly flights between Barcelona and Belgrade and on Friday morning announced it would increase the service to four times per week during the summer.

Furthermore, the airline has also operated seasonal flights from Madrid to the Serbian capital in the past. Zagreb Airport will also be at a loss as Spanair operated seasonal flights to the Croatian capital from its Barcelona base. Last summer, Spanair also operated flights from Barcelona and Madrid to Dubrovnik. As Star Alliance partners, Spanair and Croatia Airlines code shared on each other’s flights.

As a result, Jat Airways is now likely to resume seasonal summer flights to Girona while Iberia and Vueling Airlines will be operating flights from several Spanish cities to Dubrovnik. Croatia Airlines should resume seasonal summer flights from Zagreb to Barcelona.

Ha I don't follow that because I am more of a tennis guy.

Btw Noir, I wanted to ask you what did you think of Jat's DC10s back in the days? Was the service decent? I always wanted to fly on a DC10, but never got a chance. I bet it's faster than a B767-300? I wonder who paid for the expensive seats, I bet some rich Croats and Serbs?
