Air Serbia's first A320, YU-APH, has arrived at BEG. I, or anyone else, will post pictures here as soon as possible.

Here is a FB video of the plane for now:

Belgrade Airport, home of Air Serbia and the largest airport is the country, has finished its eleventh consecutive month of growth. The expansion of the airport's largest customer, Air Serbia, has caused the large increase in passengers and cargo.

March 2014 brought an additional 62.169 passengers through the doors, compared to the same month last year. The total number of passengers for this March was therefore 282.447. This represents an increase of 28%.

The airport saw a great increase in the number of landings and takeoffs, due greatly to Air Serbia's new routes. There was a total of 4.209 aircraft movements, an increase of 35%.

Cargo increased 39%, and a total of 788.758 kg was handled during March 2014.

Right on. You also need to keep in mind that LOT will have their B787 by the summer season. They would be able to offer much better service for their passengers that connect to YYZ, JFK, ORD and EWR..... They always send us newish EMB190 to Belgrade. That will be big blow for Austrian.

LOT doesn't fly to EWR and doesn't send E190 to BEG. Change your source of information

But I (as a Pole) of course recommend you flying with LOT! Mozda se nekad sretnemo u avionu

Yeah I sort of agree, but at the same time, Austrian recently upgraded their cabin with 767-400 interior.
You also need to factor in the competition. TK is very aggressive with their three daily rotations almost on the daily basis. Than you have hungry LH group...

Of all the famous Serbs who have contributed to the sciences, arts, language - we're naming planes after current athletes?

I thought that idea died with Djokovic, but clearly didn't.

These things should be posthumous only.

Well they've already decided to go with "living legends" theme, that's the name of the program as well - "Žive legende".

Why only these two planes? Why only those two athletes...? Hell why only athletes!?

Anyway.. I just think it's ultra Banana Republic. Although that's something Serbia is beginning to be very good at.

They said they will name all planes but you need to get an agreement with those after whom you wish to name the plane. There surely must be some vanity involved with these stars as well (who will go second, third etc). Why only athletes? There is no rule it must be only athletes, keep in mind it is just the two names so far so you can't reach any conclusions. Banana Republic? I've seen airlines like Aeroflot name their planes, but I haven't seen it with any third world countries. Any examples you wanna share?

It's just a marketing trick, rather successful one at that.

Oh airlines name their planes all the time. Usually after scientists, deceased actors, artists, cities, places, landmarks, but I've never seen athletes before.. Just seems cheap.

I just don't understand why you can't name these planes after places in Serbia. Flagship is Belgrade and make your way down from there.

It seems tacky to name planes after dead people who couldn't give their consent.

JAT named their planes after cities, didn't really work out.

You name the planes in their honour. Who cares about consent? I just think Serbia deserves better than Djokovic and Divac.

It would be like naming American Airlines planes after LeBron James or Venus Williams.. Sounds hilarious to anyone reading it.
